Meet Sunny: A Sea Turtle Art Trail Stop

While visiting Peggy's Tattoos & Body Art, guests can also discover Sunny, one of the unique sculptures featured along South Padre Island's Sea Turtle Art Trail.

Created as a visual celebration of Peggy's and the Gentry family of businesses, Sunny tells a story through art. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to reflect the people, places, and experiences that have become part of the South Padre Island community over the years.

Sunny's artwork showcases many elements that make Peggy's unique. Her tattoo-inspired designs pay tribute to the shop's roots, with artwork inspired by the 1990s the decade Peggy's first opened its doors. Visitors can even spot the year 1990 incorporated into the design.

The sculpture also highlights other iconic island experiences. Sunny's fin features a beach scene inspired by local beach services, while additional artwork incorporates recognizable South Padre Island landmarks and coastal themes that capture the spirit of life on The Island.

More than just a piece of public art, Sunny serves as a colorful reminder of the creativity, passion, and community connections that have helped make Peggy's a South Padre Island staple for generations.
