Sea Turtle Art Trail

The South Padre Island Sea Turtle Art Trail Task Force has curated, designed, and built 13 permanent sea turtle art sculptures across the City of South Padre Island!

Sea Turtle as a Canvas

Each sea turtle's shape and unique charm came from our artist's creative vision. They started with a fiberglass sea turtle form, that wore nothing but a rough factory priming. They took this blank figure into the works of art you see today. 

Turtle Park Update

The newest addition to the trail is "Ila" located at Turtle Park on East Morningside Rd. "Ila" features a beautiful mural of Ila Loetscher honoring her and her contribution as the founder of Sea Turtle, Inc.

Sandcastle Trail

South Padre Island is home to a collection of around 30 castles called the Sandcastle Trail. These sand sculptures are located throughout the Island. Many of these sculptures are traditional castles, while others are themed for the businesses and organizations where they are located. Find out MORE.
